You don’t have to be positive all the time. It’s perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared, and anxious. Having feelings doesn’t make you a negative person. It makes you human.
Have you heard the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”? Well, what if you aren’t sure how to make lemonade, or even if you will like it? Sometimes we wish we could look at the positives in life and respond to things differently, but you may not know how, or even why you respond to triggers the way you do.
Charity White is excited for the opportunity to hear your worldview. The people she most wants to work with are simply those who are seeking help, and that means you. She believes everyone’s life experience is unique and special. Someone who feels they need help navigating their emotions or their pain, past or present, is someone Charity is thrilled to support, because they have already done the hardest part: seeking therapy. That first step begins the work of adding to their mental health toolbox and developing healthy coping skills and a deeper understanding of themselves. Charity provides person-centered therapy because she believes people know themselves better than anyone else. They may just need additional support navigating their emotions, building coping strategies, and having room to vent.
Change doesn’t happen overnight, but a person’s willingness to participate, listen, and share their story is the second step in the therapy process. Charity sees her role as helping you understand how all the puzzle pieces fit together to form your own unique and informed story. If you aren’t sure what your goals are, she can offer feedback on what she hears you communicating. She looks forward to hearing your story and learning how she can best help you meet your goals.
Charity has experience providing counseling services across the lifespan, with a background in K-12 school counseling and clinical counseling for adults.
